What is the best way to get to the Domaine de Broc Fontaine in Brosville?

The best way to get to the Gentle Gourmet Institute is by train or car.
By train, the closest train stations are Evreux Normandie and Val-de Reuil. To book tickets, please visit the SNCF’s website. (insert link to be opened in different tab : https://www.voyages-sncf.com/ ) Note that if you are traveling from Paris, trains to Evreux Normandie or Val-de-Reuil depart from the Paris Saint-Lazare train station.

We have arranged pick-ups from the train stations to ensure that your trip to the Domaine de Broc Fontaine is as comfortable and effortless as possible.

By car, enter Gentle Gourmet Institute’s address in your GPS or Google Maps. If you are experiencing troubles using your GPS, you can also refer to these indications.

When should I get to the Institute ?

Arrivals on Monday morning are strongly unrecommended. Students are encouraged to arrive on Sunday evening. In any case, students are responsible for getting to class on time.

At what time do classes start ?

Classes start on Monday morning at 9:30 AM and end at 6:30 PM. The lunch break lasts one hour, either from 12:30 to 1:30 PM or 1:30 to 2:30 PM depending on the teacher’s instructions.

How long are the courses ?

The students are in session for 8 hours/day from Monday through Friday. In other words, they get 40 hours of training per week.

What meals are provided ?

Lunch and dinners are included in the price for all our programs. Whether you are staying onsite or offsite, you can request a breakfast for an additional cost of €10/breakfast. This will be paid onsite by debit or credit card (except from american express).

I choose an off-site accommodation, how will I get to the Institute and back to the hotel everyday ?

If you came with your own car, you are welcome to drive back and forth everyday. Any show of solidarity toward fellow students staying at the same hotel would be greatly appreciated.
If you came by train and are staying at one of the local B&B suggested on our website, we will pick you up every morning at 9am and drop you back you back off every evening after dinner.

What level of cooking experience is required ?

Due to the personalized nature of our vegan cooking classes in the (1 to 2 chefs for 8 students), no specific level of cooking experience is required. Beginners will benefit from additional explanations if required while advanced students will be challenged to go further.

How can I add my name to the waiting list?

To be placed on the waiting list email us here with the program and sessions you would like to attend. Keep in mind that if you are contacted due to a cancellation, you will need to be able to travel on short notice..

Age requirement

The retreats are intended for adults. The minimum age for participation is 16-years-old

What is your smoking policy?

Smoking is not allowed inside the main or smaller houses but is permitted outside on the grounds.

What are the payment options to register to the programs ?

You can pay through our secure online payment system, by credit or debit card, or PayPal or wire transfer.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy differs depending on the program you have signed up for. Although we try to be as flexible as possible, we ask that you acknowledge that your registration is a commitment on your part to be present throughout the program.

If a student wishes to cancel a course, we will make a full refund less deposit (50%), which will be retained to cover administration costs, provided that cancellation in writing reaches us not less than 4 weeks prior to the start of the course.
If the Gentle Gourmet Institute should have to cancel for any reason, aside from an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond our control, the full amount (including deposit) of your program will be entirely refunded. Your travel expenses will, however, not be reimbursed.

In any case, we strongly recommend getting a travel cancellation insurance in case of any unexpected occurrences during your trip (stolen luggage, medical condition, personal liability…).

How will I pay for any extra expenses on site?

There are no banks around the Domaine de Broc Fontaine that can exchange currencies. You will need to change your other currencies at the airport or in Paris tourist centers before coming to the Domaine. You should be able to use your credit card to pay at most locations but having some Euro’s in cash is always a safer bet for smaller amounts.

However, you should have no extra expenses once you are at the Domaine de Broc Fontaine as everything (accommodation and meals) is included.
